The base game is listed at $17.99 on the US Steam store, and it is a Windows title sold through Steam with Steam Cloud, Achievements and Family Sharing support. If you want the soundtrack and artbook as well, the Deluxe Edition is the bundle to look at: the launch announcement states its regular price is $35.99, discounted to $30.59 (15% off) for the first 14 days after release. That bundle includes the base game, the Original Soundtrack and the Artbook.

So the short answer: buy the base game at $17.99 if you only want to play the story, and consider the Deluxe Edition if you already know you want the music and the artbook, since that is the configuration with a documented discount.

One wrinkle worth mentioning: Green Man Gaming shows a $19.99 list price marked down 10% to $17.99, according to its product page. The Steam store page does not break the figure down itself, and no source states whether $19.99 is the standard price or what happens to the Steam listing after launch, so treat the $17.99 IsThereAnyDeal and Steam figures as the documented ones and watch the store page for any change.

What is in the Deluxe Edition?

According to the launch announcement, the bundle contains:

  • Psycho-Sleuth (base game)
  • Psycho-Sleuth Original Soundtrack
  • Psycho-Sleuth Artbook

The announcement does not describe any additional in-game content, season pass or cosmetic pack, so what else the Deluxe Edition may or may not include is not officially documented.

Buying the soundtrack and artbook separately

Both extras are sold as their own DLC alongside the base game, and the launch post says all editions and DLC are discounted during the same 14-day window. What the post does not spell out is the individual price of the OST or the artbook, and the announcement text does not list discount percentages for them separately. If you only want one of the two extras, check the store page for the current DLC prices before defaulting to the bundle.

How long does the launch discount last?

The launch discount runs for 14 days after release, applying to the Deluxe Edition. The announcement does not give a precise end date or time zone for the cut-off, so the exact moment the prices revert is not officially documented yet. After that window, the Deluxe Edition returns to $35.99 as stated in the announcement.

Is the Deluxe Edition worth it?

That depends entirely on whether you want the OST and artbook:

  • Base game only: the sensible choice if you are here for the murder mystery and the Debate Mode deductions, and you do not collect soundtracks or art books.
  • Deluxe at launch: $30.59 for game plus OST plus artbook is the documented deal, with a stated 15% off.
  • Deluxe after launch: at $35.99 you are effectively paying $18.00 on top of the base price for the two extras. Whether that is fair depends on the music and art, and the standalone DLC prices are the thing to compare against.

What else to know before you buy

A few practical points that affect value more than the price tag:

  • The demo stays available after release. The developers state the demo will remain on Steam for everyone to play for free even after the full release, and that the demo has been reworked with added cutscene content, reworked pacing and new voice acting.
  • There are five chapters. The developers describe the game as a story and deduction title built around those five chapters.
  • Languages: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean, with Japanese listed as having full audio support.
  • Requirements: minimum is Windows 7 or higher, an Intel Core i3, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce GT1030 or higher, DirectX 11, 10 GB storage and a DirectX compatible sound card. Recommended is Windows 10 or higher, an Intel Core i5, 16 GB RAM, a GeForce GT1030 or higher, DirectX 11 and 12 GB storage. The listed recommended resolution for both is 1920x1080.
  • Family Sharing is supported, so a household library copy can be shared rather than bought twice.
